The Beauty of Hedges and Shrubs

There is nothing better than hedges and shrubs to complete a well manicured lawn. Some favorites are vines, bushes, or one of the many colorful, flowering shrubs available to complete your beautiful landscape. They are a great addition to any lawn but caring for them although not difficult is often the last thing many people think about. The proper care of these wonderful plants that add character to your lawn is essential.

First, let’s talk about the proper trimming and pruning techniques used by Matt’s Lawn Care. Vines and branches should always be cut at a forty five degree angle. This is because a straight cut does not allow the plant to continue to absorb sunlight and moisture. Trimming at a forty five degree angle let’s the part of the plant being pruned continue to absorb what is needed. This is so the plant as a whole is able to continue to absorb the nutrients it needs. It allows me to properly manicure without killing the entire branch or even worse the entire plant.
